We’re IceBlue, a second-generation family business based in the Midlands. Our Managing Director and Sales Director are husband-and-wife team, Jennifer and Paul Long. We focus on developing solutions that solve business problems and help businesses run more efficiently.

MetalTrack is the perfect example of this.

To cut a long story short, back in 2011, Paul was at a business event where he met Andy Jones, MD of Mason Metals in Dudley. As the conversation went on, Andy mentioned the Scrap Metal Dealers Act and the impact it would have on his business – more paperwork, more hassle, and more time.

From what he heard, Paul thought we could develop a software that would take away all the problems Andy expected to face; making his business much more efficient and easier to manage. Andy was doubtful but suggested that Paul could head to his yard to carry on the conversation – where he agreed to develop a prototype system. Working with Mason Metals, that’s exactly what we did! The result is MetalTrack.

When we first trialled the software, we asked the least computer-confident person to use it to see what they think of it first. This helped us develop the software even further to ensure that everyone on-site can use it hassle-free.
